OUR MISSION

Share His Message, Show His Love, Serve His People.

OUR HISTORY

Solid Rock Christian Church officially began in January 2002. Our first service was held in the David B. Waymer gym (also known as the "gym church") on January 6th. The ministry began with just our immediate family: my wife, 3-year son and 1-year old daughter. In the 19th month of the ministry the church moved to its second location in September 2003, which Pastor Williams' kids called ("the store church").  After 21 months of patience and faithfulness, the 1st new (outside) members joined: Lydia Lowe, Gary Lowe, Jr. and Lori Wilson. By year-end (2003) the Lord had added eight members to the congregation.

Since that time, God has moved more expeditiously.  Soon afterwards, the church relocated to a larger facility at 18535 Old Statesville Rd., located in Cornelius, NC.  In late 2007, the ministry relocated to it's 4th location at 16601 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville, NC.  Our current facility offers us 7000 sq. feet of space with a spacious sanctuary, kitchen, several classrooms, fellowship hall and a dedicated office area.

When times get difficult, Pastor Williams recalls a special point during their initial year in ministry when he was very ashamed and discouraged because he had no people with him. After finishing the first year, the results looked dismal and the outcome looked hopeless. He began to doubt himself and God's calling.  One Sunday (in the gym church) after service ended, he told his wife to take the kids home. He wanted to be alone so he could cry.

After they departed, he walked out to the front of the building and began taking down the banner sign that served as their church sign. The banner was flapping in the wind and looked as if it would fall to the ground because many of the fasteners had fallen to the ground. When he examined why the entire sign had not fell, he noticed one hook stayed in tact. When he went to detach it, he noticed he had to work a little hard to unhook it. At that moment, God spoke to him and said, "I WANT YOU TO BE LIKE THIS HOOK, HOLD ON, HOLD ON, HOLD ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  He thanks God because he was determined to do just that, HOLD ON.

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

1. We believe in one Lord, one Faith, and one Baptism. (Ephesians 4:5)

2. We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God. It is true. It contains the keys to inheriting eternal life, and it reveals the mystery of our faith. (John. 5:39; Deuteronomy 29:29)

3. We believe in the oneness of God, who was the Father in creation, the Son in redemption, and today, He is the Holy Ghost in The Church. (I Timothy 3:16)

4. We believe that Jesus is God, for in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form. We proclaim LORD Jesus Christ is the name of God that was given to this generation as the only Name whereby the people of this Grace dispensation of time can be saved. (Colossians 2:9; Acts 4:12)

5. We accept God's plan of salvation of baptism by water and spirit. Jesus Christ, who was our perfect example, though sinless, was baptized to fulfill righteousness. (John 3:5; Matthew 3:15)

6. We believe that water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is essential for forgiveness of sins, and confirms our belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.   (Acts 2:38; Acts 8:37)

7. We believe that rebirth by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential today as it was in the days of the Apostles. Acts 2:4

8. We believe that the Word of God must be proclaimed throughout all the world, according to God's commandment. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15; Romans 10:18)

9. Our blessed hope lies in Christ Jesus our LORD, who has given us the victory over death and hell. Therefore, standing firm on His promise, we anticipate the second coming of Jesus Christ--that great day of resurrection which shall surely come.

10. On that day, the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then, we which are alive and remain will be changed, and caught up together with them in the air. And so shall we forever be with our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. (John 14:3; I Corinthians 15:51-58; I Thessalonians 4:15-17)
