NetBlock Privacy Policy

NetBlock is a school-managed application operated for Solid Rock Christian Academy. This policy explains what information NetBlock processes, why it is processed, how it is protected, how long it is retained, and how to contact us.

Information NetBlock Processes

When configured and deployed by the school, NetBlock may process:

• The student’s entered first and last name
• The student’s profile photograph
• The school-assigned managed device identifier
• Webpage addresses displayed in the app
• Browsing-history entries and summaries
• Favorites saved by the student
• Complete images of the visible NetBlock application screen
• The date and time of each capture
• Technical network information required to communicate with the school’s private server

Complete-screen images are captured approximately three times per second while recording is active. These images may include the URL bar, browser controls, student badge, student name and photograph, settings, webpages, information entered into or displayed by webpages, and other visible NetBlock content.

This information may reveal a student’s identity, photograph, browsing activity, interests, communications, or other information displayed within the app.

How Information Is Collected and Used

NetBlock processes this information while the managed app is in use and transmits encrypted frames to a private server controlled by Solid Rock Christian Academy. Frames may include identity information, browsing activity, complete images of the visible app screen, and session-ending information.

The information is used only for authorized school device management, supervision, student safety, troubleshooting, and compliance with school technology policies. NetBlock does not use this information for advertising, marketing, commercial profiling, or sale.

On-Device Storage

During an active session, NetBlock temporarily stores the student’s name, profile photograph, and browsing history on the managed iPad. This temporary session information is deleted when the student selects Stop Recording or when NetBlock completes its normal session-ending process.

If the app or device stops unexpectedly, immediate cleanup of temporary session information may not occur.

Student favorites may remain stored on the managed iPad after a session ends. Favorites are stored in a profile associated with the student name entered in NetBlock. As a result, the student’s identity may remain indirectly represented on the device after temporary session information has been deleted.

Server Storage and Retention

The NetBlock server keeps only the latest decrypted frame received for each managed device in memory. Each new frame replaces the previous frame. NetBlock frames and browsing history are not written to disk by the NetBlock server.

At the end of a session, NetBlock transmits a final session frame that may contain the student’s photograph, name, managed device identifier, and a browsing-history summary. This final frame remains as the server’s latest in-memory frame until it is replaced by a later frame, explicitly deleted, or removed when the server restarts.

The app does not create a commercial user account.

Security

Information is transmitted over HTTPS and is additionally protected with application-layer encryption and authenticated requests. Encryption private keys remain on the school-controlled server.

No security method can guarantee absolute protection, but reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect the information.

Disclosure

NetBlock information is available only to personnel authorized by Solid Rock Christian Academy to operate, supervise, or administer the system.

NetBlock does not sell personal information and does not include third-party advertising or analytics services. If service providers are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated. Such providers will be required to protect information consistently with this policy and applicable requirements.

Student and School Use

NetBlock is intended for school-managed devices and is deployed by the school through mobile device management. The school is responsible for providing any required notices, obtaining any required permissions, and establishing policies appropriate for its students, staff, and jurisdiction.

Privacy Choices and Requests

A student may stop future collection by selecting Stop Recording within NetBlock. Stopping recording closes the active browsing session and initiates deletion of temporary local session information.

The school may also stop future collection by removing the app or its managed configuration from the device.

Because NetBlock is administered by the school, students, parents, or guardians seeking access, correction, restriction, or deletion should contact Solid Rock Christian Academy directly. Requests concerning persistent favorites or the server’s latest in-memory frame should also be directed to the school.
